Happy Halloween!

So yesterday afternoon, Lee and the kids carved their pumpkins!
With lots of supervision (my role) and cries of "ugh" all the pumpkins were gutted, desgins drawn on and then the carving began..

Was very impressed the end results! Lee's ghost, Nicholas' eye, Alex's Jack o'lantern and his owl and Cassandra's paw print (which I hasten to add that she drew and cut out all on her own) were all brilliant!

Sunday 30 October 2016

It's Sunday, must be a football day...

I don't go to many of Nicholas' football matches as I'd like to as it's hard dragging the other two with me to stand there and yell words of encouragement in the cold..

However, Alex is now old enough to make his own choices of whether or not to come along and one of our new players - Ben has a little sister that comes along too, so Cassie has someone to hang with.
Today, the Leigh Ramblers U11 White team played over at Trinity FC and it was a really enjoyable game to watch and quite evenly matched (on occasions Nicholas was a tad bored), although he really did make some cracking saves!
Everyone played brilliantly and the team won..
Lee and James were very proud of the boys.

As was I of my little man.

Pumpkins!

I LOVE Halloween and this year I wanted to do something different, so Mum and I took the 3 beasties over to Foxes Farm in Basildon to their Pumpkin Patch - so that they could all pick their own pumpkin to carve this year..
It wasn't as full as I thought it would be, many of them had already been picked and just lefy lying around in the field, but they all had fun wheeling their wheelbarrows around choosing which ones they wanted..
They were more expensive than those in Tesco, but we all had a great morning out.  The carving comes later...

So proud of my little knot maker...

After a good few weeks of attending a course over at Thriftwood Scout Camp, Alexander today was charged with the task of building a bridge that could actually sustain someone walking across it.
So utilising his skills of knots and lashings, along with the 4 other scouts that were there, that they all did and he was presented with is Scouts Pioneer badge.

Way to go young man!

My Little Reindeer - My Creative Sketches

So I'm still plodding through my Christmas photos endeavouring to catch up...

I loved the sketch over at Creative Sketches with all the circles and thought the photos of Cassandra in her very first school Christmas play would be perfect for it - Christmasy, but not so much!

Loads of time to enter as the challenge doesn't end until 14th November 2016.

Scrap Our Stash - Gabriel's Big Break

Still on my "catching up with various Christmas layouts" spree, I took inspiration from Scrap our Stash's book inspired challenge.

I used the clock from the picture and bakers twine on the tag.  The clock reminded me that my little lady is growing up way to fast.  She looked so angelic as an angel in her Christmas production in Year 1 in 2013, but time really does fly..

End of the month is the closing date for this one, so time still to enter

Let's Get Sketchy - Midwife Crisis!

I'm still catching up on my scrappin' and I'm on a Christmas kick at the mo.  These pictures of Cassandra in her last lower school Christmas play last year entitled "Midwife Crisis" were perfect for Brenshevia's sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy!

Challenge finishes end of this month, so a bit of time left to enter.

Bye bye...

I had this strange sense of Deja Vu of 3 years ago with Alex, but it's all over for another 3 years until I have to do it with Cassandra.

Seemas strange that my 2 boys can be so radically different.,,

REALLY going to miss Nicholas this week, but I'm sure he'll have a fabby time up at Hilltop in Norfolk with the school.

Stay safe little man.

Scrap it with a song

I'm desperately trying to "catch up" with my scrapin' and "welcome to the mad house" from Rihanna's song made me think that this silly Christmas photo would be a suitable and rather apt one to scrap for this challenge.
I'm thinking my family's faces are rather apt!

Have until the end of the month to enter this challenge:

I can fly!

With everything going on (Life in general) I haven't scrapped for AGES, so it was time that I got back to it.  I've got a few outstanding "projects" that I want to get finished, one of them being my Florida holiday photos/album from 2011!

The sketch challenge over at Grand Diva was perfect for the photos of Peter Pan!

Challenge is open until 29th October, so still time to enter.

I'm also entering this as a bonus to Rochelle's Scrappy Friends "This or That October" Challenge as I used tickets on my layout.

It's all about the music...

Lee has always loved the music to various films and series.  John Williams is his second favourite composer (my first) so I thought I would treat him to an evening of his music, played by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
Thanks to Mum for looking after the 3 beasties, Lee and I set off (after football training of course) up to London.
I've never been the Albert Hall and first impressions were pretty amazing!

So the concert started off with Superman..

And ended with the Imperial March from StarWars.

An experience that I will certainly never forget..
