Trekkie through and through...

I've always been a Sci-Fi fan - Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5 etc etc even before I met Lee, so when the opportunity arose a good few years back to go to Collectamania in Milton Keynes and meet Brent Spiner - that's Data from Star Trek to those not in the know, my favourite character from Star Trek, I jumped at the chance!

Lee was up for it too as Michael Dorn (Klingon Worf) has always been his favourite... and he also got to meet Walter Keonig who played Chekov!
I'm entereing this layout into a SciFi challenge over at Weird Scissors...

We are Sailing.....

Yesterday "Up Sail" Yacht club had a free open day whereby anyone could go along and try out sailing... Was up for that!
Nicholas was taking part in his second gala for SOS so he declined to come along, but I took Alexander and Cassandra and we were first on the River Crouch..

Cassandra and I went together in a boat called "Starship" which was fun... until the wind got up and the little lady decided that it wasn't so much fun anymore...

Alexander on the other hand really enjoyed himself.. from helping to launch the boat
 Sailing it..
And even geting soaked - he loved it!
May just have to see if there are any other yacht clubs offering an open day..

You can do it!

I've had a very stressed out and emotional young man the last few weeks, due to Alexander working hard in readiness for sitting his Year 6 SAT's exams this week.
Image result for exams quotes for best wishes
He's really up'd his game that Lee and I couldn't of asked any more of him.  I just hope that he does his best as we're so proud of him - whatever results he gets.

Son...

Am pleased that I'm getting to scrap a bit more lately and I love this photo of Nicholas so it was perfect for the sketch challenge over at "Lets Capture our memories".
Plenty of time still to enter as closing date is end of the month.

My Scraps & More...

At Christmas my Mum bought the 3 sprogs a "shoulder buddy" -  a cute little bug that was magnetic with another magnetic disc that went under their clothes so it sat on their shoulder.  They were a HUGE hit and they still haven't lost them!
The sketch challenge over at My Scraps and More was good, but I rotated it 90 degrees!

Plenty of time to enter as closing date is not until 31st May 2015.

Time is flying.....

Alexander's 11th birthday this year actually fell on Bank Holiday Monday, so it was a whole weekend of celebrations as on the Saturday Lee and I took him, two of his buds - Ash and Vijay and Nicholas, Cassandra and her friend Isabelle down to Adventure Island for the afternoon...

The weather was great (albeit a tad cold) and fun was had by all..

On the Sunday, whilst Cassandra spent the morning with one of her bestie's Millie, Lee and I took the boys to see Avengers - Age of Ultron which was just brilliant and one of the best films I've seen for ages...
Then, on the Monday, after opening even more Lego to add to his collection...

Off we went to spend the day at Castle Heddingham and watch the jousting tournament..
After a ride on a donkey..
making their own coins..
posing with the gentry at the castle..
having fun with the jesters..
Maypole dancing..

Making friends with the birds, especially "Dusk" the barn owl..

It was time for the jousting to begin!!!
A chance meeting with the knights afterwards made for a great photo opportunity!
When we got home, Nannie came round bring more lego and for a cuppa and a slice of birthday cake
All in all, I do believe that our young man had a great birthday.
