So he's 14. He's growing older and taller way to fast for my liking.
However, you're never too old to have a home-baked-by-your-little-sister chocolate birthday cake!
Both Nannie
and Nanna came round to see Nicholas on his birthday and he had a good day.

Happy - Scrap with Stacy's January Tic Tac Toe Challenge
Nicholas has always had a soft spot for Cassandra's bestie Millie. One year Martyna and I took her 2 and my 3 on holiday for a week in a caravan.
All 5 of the kids had a really great holiday and got on really well. Especially Millie and Nicholas!
Still time to enter Stacy's Tic Tac Toe challenge, I went diagonally and used cardstock, banner, doily.

Star Wars: Into the Void - Sketches in Thyme #403
I'm really not getting much time to scrap as I'm 1/3rd way through my teacher training and it's taking up most of my time.
However, I spent a scrapping day with Mum and Tina the other Saturday and got a few layouts done including this one. A little out of my comfort zone as I usually only scrap with 4x6" or even 5x7" photos, but this was taken of Alex and Lee when they took part in an interactive virtual Reality Star Wars event for Alex's birthday the other year.
Apparently, it's one of the best things Alex has ever done. Good pressie then!
I used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme and rotated it.Still time to enter the challenge:

Rocking for Heroes!
One of my Christmas gifts from Mum was two tickets to 'Rock for Heroes' charity concert at the Cliffs Pavilion. Lee works Thursday evening and thought he'd be too tired to attend, so Mum and I went instead.
Having grown up and spent much of my time in my room listening to rather loud music, Mum knew plenty of the songs the band were covering
From Bon Jovi, Queen and Starship to Van Halen, Journey and Guns 'n' Roses. We sang along, joined in and even managed to get up for a boogie towards the end - Mum too!!
Proves that you're never too old to attend a rock concert!!

It's all go!
So it's all go in the Butler household already.
Alexander is hard at it studying for his GCSE exams this year in between leading the Warhammer club at school. Nicholas is learning to adapt to having Osgood-Schlatter disease and still being able to play his beloved football. Cassandra is having her best year at Primary school yet, albeit her last one. She's currently PA to her teacher, on the Fund Raising team, she's a Reading Mentor to the younger years and also a Librarian.
Lee is continuing to coach futsal in his spare time (?) and as for me, I'm 1/3 of the way through my teacher training. Feeling quite proud of myself today as my teacher/mentor was not in school, so I taught the class for the entire day! Now that was a shock to the system. I thoroughly enjoyed it though. Bring on Monday!!
