I am a....

It's not often that I actually dedicate a page to myself.  My focus tends to be my kids, family and friends. I get in a photo every now and again..

This layout however is about me... I'm a very proud Beaver Scout leader and worked hard to achieve my "wood beads" which were awarded to me at County Renewal of Promise in April last year.
Both my boys are in Scouts and my daughter has just been invested too!

I'm entering this layout into Challenge Yourself's Colour challenge with the added criteria of the title begining with "I am"...

and I also used the sketch from Stuck?! Sketches, so I am entering it into their challenge too:
Closing date for both is 28th February - so not long if anyone still wishes to enter.

And another one invested!

After a few weeks of attending on and and off, Sue finally invested Cassandra into 3rd Prittlewell Beaver Scouts.

Cassandra didn't stop smiling the whole night.  One very proud little lady and a proud Mummy too!

Picture This Challenges - Vertical Challenge

The current challenge over at Picture this Challenges is a 3 photo vertical challenge one, so as I've been meaning to scrap these old photos of the hubby and I meeting some of our favourtie Star Trek actors, it seemed the perfect choice!
Not long to enter as the closing date is 28th February 2015

So miss my family that are no longer physically with me, but grateful that those that are, are always close.

Half Term

So, another half term week has been and gone and it wasn't toooooooooo stressful!

Monday was fun, Lee took the day off work and we went up to Duxford museum.  Despite the rain, we had a great time and the planes are just amazing...

Never did I think that I'd get to go on Concorde, but I did!

Out of all the American planes, the Blackbird had to be my favourite - but it will always be the X-Jet to me!
One of my all time favourite days out, so thank you Tesco vouchers!

Tuesday I took the boys to see Big Hero 6 as Cassandra was seeing the same film with her friends in celebration of Lucia's birthday!
Wednesday Nicholas spent at at 1GK goal keeper training of which he got in the local paper (again) whilst Cassandra spent the day playing with her friend Lexie and Alex spent the whole day gaming with his friend Ashley.
Nicholas spent Thursday over at Festival Leisure with some friends in celebration of Ryan's birthday and Alexander spent the whole afternoon planning Warhammer 40k tactics at Games Workshop.
Was so proud of Alex on Friday as he came along to the local foodbank with me and helped package up and hand out 14 food parcels.
Nicholas had a sleepover at Nannie's house and Alex, Cassandra and I all went to see Merlin Productions' "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" with the beavers and cubs of 3rd Prittlewell and 1st Heycroft, culminating in a sleepover at St Laurence Church Hall.  Cassie was thrilled on Saturday morning when she was awarded her first ever Beaver Scout badge - Nights Away 1 :)
I've therefore had 2 ratty kids for the weekend and 1 hyper one as Nicholas' football match was cancelled today..

Roll on tomorrow!!

The joy of a goal scorer in today's Leigh Ramblers U9 Tigers match!

Valentine's Day...

When you're young and in love, everything is great.
So, when at the grand old age of 5, Cassandra told me that when she marries Jacob her name will change to Cassandra South, I was a little terrified!  I still went along with it and humoured her when she wanted to buy him a gift and card for Valentine's day...
They are so sweet (their kids will be beautiful)..
And as Lee said, he spent ages making her a card, so there's hope for him yet!

SUFC mascot!

"Football is my whole life" Nicholas said to me the other week, so he was rather excited when Lee told him that through contacts both he and his buddy Reuben were going to be mascots for Southend United for their game against York this weekend!
Nicholas plays as goalie for Leigh Ramblers U9 Tigers, so he'd requested was to walk out with Daniel Bentley, Southend United's goalie..
He got his wish and was even lucky enough to get given a keepers kit too!
Reuben and his dad Simon are season ticket holders, so Roo got his shirt signed by the players, Nicholas wanted to keep his, so he settled just for Dan.

 Warming up on the pitch
Hugs and heads with Sammy the Shrimp!
Hands and messing the hair with Elvis the Eel!
 Finally walking out with Dan!

By the time the game started, it was snowing!
The boys were rather cold, but as we had the loan of a Director's box, they boys soon warmed up to watch Southend beat York 1-0!
Nicholas is very proud of his signed programme and now has it frammed up in his room.

What an awesome experience - thank you so much to those that were involved in making such an event for my and Simon's little men, such an amazing one. x
