Scrap & Play challenge no.10

I've just found a new blog and their current challenge is to create a layout with a list of 10...

It could be based on anything, so digging through my stash searching for what I knew I had somewhere, I found my pocket with 10 "I love" strips in... So I finally got round to scrapping this layout of my family!
A bit of time still to enter as the closing date for the challenge is end of Sept 2014

Sketches in Thyme - No.130

Over at "Sketches in Thyme" I like the fact that you have to enter both their monthly challenges to be in in with a chance of winning.  I love their second sketch and thought the photo of Lee and I on our segway activity was perfect...
Still a little time to enter, as the closing date is 30th September

My favourite time of the year...

I LOVE Autumn, it's my favourite time of the year.  When all the leaves are changing colours, it's still warm enough not to have to wear a coat and the woods beckon....

Lots of challenges up at the mo for autumnal layouts, so I created this one last night whilst scrappin' at Mum's...
I'm going to enter this layout that I did, using a photo of Cassandra taken in Hockley Woods last year to:

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - Sketch challenge
closing date: 30th Sept 2014

Show Us Your Stuff - Spring Mood Board
closing date: 30th Sept 2014

My inspiration was the picture of roses in vases in the shape of a heart. So I handmade a heart of buttons using chipboard...

Colour Me Scrappy - Challenge #70: Signs of Fall
closing date: 30th Sept 2014

My inspiration from their colour combo being orange and yellow!

Lasting Memories - LM #208: add leaves
Closing date: 26th Sept 2014

Scrap Around the World Challenge No.17 - Magical Mood Board

The mood board over at SATW this month is just gorgeous...
So I just had to enter and was I was inspired by the heart and cogs to create this layout of Alexander...
I love this picture of my eldest - he really does "melt my heart"

Plenty of time still to enter as the closing date is 30th September 2014.

More back to school layouts...

I've always loved scrapping the kids' school photos and there are quite a few "Back to School" challenges up at the mo.   I haven't actually managed to scrap this year's event, so I used the photo's of Nicholas going into Year 2 at Blenheim Primary School year before last (I'm a bit behind)!
As I'm not getting much time to scrap at the mo., I'm going to enter this layout into:

Scrap our Stash - Challenge 18 "Back to School"
Challenge closes 29th August 2014

From list 1 I used: lined/ruled paper
From list 2 I used: Alphas, Numbers, ruler, pencil/pen

Tando - September week 2 challenge
Challenge closes end of September 2014

Colour Me Scrappy - Challenge No. 69 - Back to school
challenge ends end of September 2014

RCS challenge - Any Given Sunday

Red Carpet Studio have a challenge that's right up my ally as I do happen to have a little boy that has ALWAYS been into football....

It's all about the game for Nicholas and nothing is better for him than winning a "Man of the Match" trophy for his hard work!  These photos were perfect for the challenge of a sports themed layout.
Not long to enter as the closing date is 20th September...

1st day of school...

Well after 7 LONG weeks summer hols, the kids went back to school on Thursday.  Love my brood without question, but both the kids and I were ready for them to get back into the routine of school...
Every year we try and do something different with the "back to school" photo and this year Lee gave each of the kids some of the foam numbers/letters from the bath!

I have to say that I was doing very well that morning, until I saw the letters Alex was holding and then the tears started to well up.... Not quite so hard as I make out!

Every year Lee also goes into work late, so he can be there on the kids first day and there he was armed with his doody camera taking pics...
This is the last year that Alex will be in the same playground as Nicholas...
Alex then saw Rebecca his girlfriend of God knows how many years and he was a happy chappy...
Now in Year 6, his last year at Blenheim Primary school, Alexander has the same teacher that he had towards the end of last year - Mr Shaw.  Alex really likes him as do I, so I've high hopes that his final year will be a good one...
Nicholas in Year 4 is my concern this year, as he has a lot of "challenging" children in his class and that's the nice way of saying it.  Miss Gibbons (a new teacher for us Butler's) seems really nice so I'm hoping he'll be okay..
And as for my little lady, Cassandra, now in Year 1 of KS1, she has Miss Newham and knows all the other children in her class and they all went up as a whole class.. I'm hoping that she too will thrive.

Sketches in Thyme - no.129

I've been continuing with my scrappin of late, and I do like to use more than photo on my layouts...

The sketch challenge over at Sketches in Tyme was perfect for some photos of Nicholas being invested into Beaver Scouts:

Plenty of time to enter as this is their first challenge of September
