Manic half term

The kids all went back to school today and I for one was glad, only because I felt I crammed more in than I usually do in a week!

Cassandra, Alexander and I were in attendance at Kidz Camp Essex for two of the days and on one of them, I supervised 70 odd kids making slime!

After a successful Valentine's meet up, I took the 3 beasties to Bounce Village one afternoon, so that Cassie could meet up with her latest beau - Danny.  I managed to have a lovely catch up with Alison too!
Image may contain: 2 people, including Sharon Butler, people smiling, people sitting and indoor
They then had riffle club, spent time with friends, football, computing taster sessions, sleepovers, swimming, riding and God knows what else they fitted in, but fit it all in we did.

I think I need a week off now!

Birthday treat - go karting!

Ever since the beasties were young, we've tried to do something together as a family for each of their birthday's.  Nicholas loves go-karting and usually choosing that activity for his 'family thing'.  Last year Cassandra was old enough and tall enough to go karting in a pro kart, however pennies were a bit tight and we never did it for her birthday.
So the other weekend, for Cassie's birthday treat last year and Nicholas' birthday treat this year we all hit the track over at Brentwood karting.

Fun was indeed had by all!

And I got to breathe....

I have to admit that I don't get out much -well, I do if it involves my 3 beasties and their social activities, but not so much on my own or with the hubby.  So, when I get the chance, I just love my weekend's away to get creative with glue and paper.

I was so thrilled the other week when I managed to get 16 layouts done at GoGo Getaway up in Suffolk.  So much so, that I've booked to attend the next one!!

Class of 2015 - Let's scrap sketches

I have so many double layouts to do that I just had to do the first sketch for February over at Let's Scrap Sketches.

I've been stuck for an idea on what to do with Alexander's last day at primary school photos for ages (well, 4 years actually) and this was just perfect for them.

I was really pleased on how this layout came out.  I've even sat with Alex and got him to fill in the Class of 2015 questionnaire!

The challenge runs until end of Feb:

Always and Forever - Sketches in Thyme No.361

I'm on a roll this week with my scrappin' I really liked the simplicity of the sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme, but had to have a play around with it as I do.  I was really pleased with how this one came out, as I used inks and texture!

I don't often scrap Lee and I, but this photo that Alex took of us on the beach was one I wanted to remember.

Challenge is open until the end of the month

Dream - Stick it Down double page challenge

Not many challenges involve double pages, which is a shame as I do quite a few due to always having taken way too many photos and not being able to choose which ones I want.

So,  I was really pleased that Stick it Down have a double page challenge this month, and as I'm a tad behind, bearing in mind Alexander turns 15 in May, I finally scrapped his 5th birthday!!!

This is the sketch that inspired me..

Challenge runs until the end of the month :)

AWESOME! - Let's Get Sketchy challenge

I'm still working through all my "behind" school photos of my 3 beasties and thought the sketch challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy this month was a good one to do.
Alexander started at Eastwood Academy in 2015... this September he starts Year 11 - his last year at school!  How time flies.

Challenge is up until the end of the month.

Young Love - Stick it Down single page challenge

So at the age of 8, Cassandra was in love with a boy in her class called Henry.

They were "together" for a while until he broke her heart by "splitting up" with her and then "going out" with one of her friends.  (How dare he)?!!

So I used the sketch over at Stick it Down - a new challenge blog I've found to record who she was with over Valentine's day last year.
The challenge ends at the end of the month:

When I grow up...Paper Issues - Keep it Sketchy Challenge

I managed to get some time to scrap today (not quite undisturbed, but enough to get some challenge layouts done)...

This sketch is taken from the 'Keep it Sketchy Challenge' on Paper Issues on Facebook.
No photo description available.
As my layout explains, I took the Beaver Scouts of 3rd Prittlewell to visit the local fire station when I was still a leader.  We had a great time and I even got to dress up as a fire fighter!!
I quite enjoyed scrappin' me for a change!

Hitting the paper...

So I've had quite a bit of a break from my scrapbooking love, so it's time to get back to it.  That and the fact that my creativity has got flowing as I've been printing off photos to take with me to GoGo Dayaway next weekend.

So, there are challenges galore on line and I choose Sketch n Scrap's sketch no.170.

I have so many school layouts to catch up on, that I thought I would try using this sketch for one of them.  I was quite pleased with the results!

Challenge doesn't end until the end of the month.
