Sketch N Scrap #327

So I spent most of today scrappin' and got 3 layouts completed!!!  Go me!

The sketch below was quite a simple one, but I managed to find some papers that matched and came up with this layout of Cassie when she went up to stay with her friend Georgia in the Lake District last year. Georgia has two ponies and when Cassie visits she rides Fudge. Both girls entered a local competition that week and Cassie was made up to place and received a rosette to add to her others.

I've also entered this layout into Soul Scrappers one word challenge.

Both close on 30th April 2026.

Challenge Yourself #147 Friends & Sketch N Scrap Sketch #196 throwback

Where does the time go?  I can't keep saying I'm going to get back to it, so I'm just scrappin' when I can!

My offering of one layout, which can be entered into 2 challenges, by the skin of my teeth!

I used the theme of 'friendship' from Challenge Yourself (which includes a pic of me) and also followed the throwback sketch from Scrap N Sketch.

One layout done, a few more to go!

Rochelle Spears & Scrap with Stacey - Aug challenge

Despite being 4 weeks into the summer holidays, I've only managed to complete 2 layouts!  Busy busy.

However, I completed this one using Rochelle's Sketch and completed Stacey's middle line of her tic tac toe board (tag, circle and sticker).

Entries clopse at the end of August.

Lasting memories #749 - Team Bride

I'm really pleased with how this one came out. I used a sketch challenge that I liked from last month that I didn't get to do, so I used it here, with lots of washi tape for the strips.

I've gone with the first vertical column of metal (badge), gold (the colour of a couple of the washi strips) and a tag.

Lasting memories challenge is open until the end of May.

First Grading - Rochelle Spears & Scrap with Stacy

Making the most of a Bank Holiday weekend to get some challenges done with the many photos I'm still wanting to scrap.

The sketch that Rochelle Spears put up this month uses more than 1 photo which is great for me as that tends to be what I always have - more than 1 photo!  I did go a little rogue..

Scrap with Stacy has a Tic Tac Toe which I also included by using chipboard (arrow), tag, and word stickers, vertical 3rd column.

Back in 2022, Alexander was really getting into his karate and was so proud to gain his first belt - Orange.

Both challenges run until end of May

Lasting Memories - Feb challenge: Sail Away

The challenge over at Lasting Memories was to create a 12x12" layout using 6x6" paper pad.

The selfie Alex took of him, Mum and I, when we went on a boat trip to see the WWII Maunsel Forts the other year, was a perfect pic to be used and the 2 blue 6x6" squares in the middle of the doily met the challenge criteria.

The challenge closes at the end of the month

Challenge Yourself - Feb Challenge

I'm sooooooo on a roll!

I created this layout for the February challenge to use hearts on a layout, which I've done in the paper and the brad in the centre of the flower.  Really pleased how this one came out.

Link to challenge, which doesn't close until end of the month.

Love is in the air..

So proud of myself, I've done 6 layouts so far this year!

This one I created of my daughter a good few years ago, when she spent Valentine's Day with a lad who was the son of the lady whose pony she was loaning.  Her and Danny made a cute couple for a while!

So I've used Rochelle's sketch and met the diagonal line of Stacey's Tic Tac Toe of staples (on the tags) heart and chipboard.

Both challenges can be found below and they don't close until the end of the month.

Getting back to scrappin'!

Well it's certainly been a while since I've posted on my blog or done any scrapbooking to be honest.  However, Mum and I have found a group that we like and we're going to endeavour to attend once a month to get my scrappin' groove back.

So, as I've been tidying up my craft room the last few days. I wanted to get at least one layout completed to kick start me. I've always been a fan of sketches so I used the one from Rochelle and linked in Stacy's Tic Tac Toe challenge too as I used 3 photos, circles and enamel dots - middle line across.

Time Flies - Challenge Yourself #115 - My happy place

So I haven't scrapped for what seems like forever, but now the 6 weeks of summer holidays are here, I'm determined to get back to it - and I even fussy cut!!!
My family and I go up to the Lake District every year and I just love spending time walking through the woods, it's so calming and relaxing.

This is a pic Lee took of me at Caldbeck back in July 2019 before Lockdown.

The challenge ends on 4th August 2023.

Sketch n Scrap Challenge - NSD exclusive sketch

Even though it's National Scrapbook Day (weekend) I've only managed to do one layout, but I followed the sketch from Sketch n Scrap, although you can't see the bottom piece of paper due to flowers!  These are photos of my daughter and her friend as a birthday party last December.

This was the original sketch:

Plenty of time to enter their competition as the closing date isn't until end of May 2022.

Artastic February 'window' - Good for the Sole!

The 'window' at Artastic this month reminded me of school with all its primary colours, however, with a bit of creativity and the perfect photo of everyone's feet, including Endor's paws, that I took last October up in the Lakes, I think I met the brief on this one!

Challenge can be found below or on their FB page

Stick it Down Challenge - February Single page sketch

As it's half term, I'm taking some 'me' time and getting in some scrapping.  This photo of Lee and I is one of my all time fav's.  I was pregnant with Alex and we were spending time with Lee's parents over in Germany.
I hand drew the hearts and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Challenge is open until the end of the month.

Lasting Memories Sketch Challenge 505 - These are my favs

I really liked this month's sketch challenge at Lasting Memories and thought a photo of Nicholas and Cassandra was perfect for it.  Bar the 2 photos (I used only 1) I think I've kept to the sketch pretty well..

Challenge goes on until 26th February 2022.

Stick it Down - January single page sketch

So even though it's only the beginning of Jan, I've done 5 layouts already!!!  Get me.

I have no toner in my printer either, which means I HAVE to use up all the photos I've already printed off, which is a good thing!

I used this sketch for a couple of photos of Cassie in her Expressions dancing show a few years ago (I'm a little behind.)

Challenge runs until the end of the month

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 2022!!

I've not blogged for what seems like FOREVER, so I'm determined as I am every year, to do better.

Christmas was good, and for me relaxing for once as I handed in my notice at my school and therefore didn't need to stress over planning for January, pupil progress, marking, displays, or anything else.  The plan is to go and do supply work and check out lots of different schools.

Onwards and upwards this year.

ARTastic Challenge

I'm really pleased how this layout came out as I'm out of my comfort zone with only two colours AND mixed media!!
Cassandra and her BFF Izzy unknown to each other, ended up with the same cool outfit.  They were thrilled!

The challenge criteria was to take inspiration from the picture below, use only black & white and an insect of some sort.  I went with a butterfly.
Challenge runs for the month
