Stick it Down - January single page sketch

So even though it's only the beginning of Jan, I've done 5 layouts already!!!  Get me.

I have no toner in my printer either, which means I HAVE to use up all the photos I've already printed off, which is a good thing!

I used this sketch for a couple of photos of Cassie in her Expressions dancing show a few years ago (I'm a little behind.)

Challenge runs until the end of the month

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 2022!!

I've not blogged for what seems like FOREVER, so I'm determined as I am every year, to do better.

Christmas was good, and for me relaxing for once as I handed in my notice at my school and therefore didn't need to stress over planning for January, pupil progress, marking, displays, or anything else.  The plan is to go and do supply work and check out lots of different schools.

Onwards and upwards this year.

ARTastic Challenge

I'm really pleased how this layout came out as I'm out of my comfort zone with only two colours AND mixed media!!
Cassandra and her BFF Izzy unknown to each other, ended up with the same cool outfit.  They were thrilled!

The challenge criteria was to take inspiration from the picture below, use only black & white and an insect of some sort.  I went with a butterfly.
Challenge runs for the month

Stick it down - August sketch challenge

I've been a busy bee and got two layouts done this weekend.

Cassie's friend Olivia had a birthday party that had a photobooth the other year and all the kids had a brilliant time with all the props.  I just had to scrap some of them and the sketch challenge from Stick it Down was perfect, although I did rotate it to fit my photos.

Stick it down - August double page sketch challenge

I haven't posted or scrapped for ages, so I'm quite pleased with myself that I'm doing both now :)

Way back in 2015 when Alex was a scout with 1st Rayleigh, he and I and Cassandra too, formed a team with some of his scout friends and attended their Summer Camp.  The theme was Pirates and we all got into the spirit of things with personalised t shirts and teamwork.  We rocked up on the Friday, pitched our tent and took part over the weekend in loads of activities, different challenges, sing-a-long's, we toasted marshmallows, won and lost in team games and even built a pirate ship! It was definitely a weekend to remember...

So I based my layout on Stick it Down's double page sketch challenge for August.

Challenge is open all month:

Sketch n Scrap challenge no. 222

So I managed another layout this weekend and I was quite chuffed with the result as I've wanted to scrap the photos of Cassie and the chickens for ages!

I went from this sketch, which I feel I kept to pretty much spot on!

Challenge closes 30th April - Link to challenge:

Pawsome Pal

I am determined to get some scrappin' done over the Easter Hols and I spent some time with my Mum today, who's in my bubble, and I managed to get this layout of Alexander and our puppy completed.
I used Rochelle's sketch from Scrappy Friends and completed Stacy's TicTacToe challenge by using velum, word stickers and a heart (middle vertical line).
I also used a cut file from Peartree Cutfiles, which means that I can enter this layout into their Challenge 3 on FBs I splattered paint, had torn edges, used velum, multiple photos and layers.

Creative Embellishments March Sketch challenge - Determined

I haven't really scrapped for ages, life, kids, work all in the way despite lockdown, but I loved this sketch and my creativity temporarily came back.
This was my inspiration:

I even managed to include a Creative Embellishment embelli.

Challenge finishes at the end of March.
