Mummy's Day

I LOVE Mother's Day - a chance to spend the day with my gorgeous kids!!

Breakfast and pressies in bed, and then as Alex is now a fully initiated Beaver, I took him to Church Parade and met up with Mum and we both got a lovely posy of flowers..

Mum then came home with us for a yummy roast dinner (that I cooked) and in the afternoon we all went to see Lee's Mummy (who had only recently hurt herself falling down the stairs)!!

Thank you so much for being 3 wonderful Childeren! (Most of the time)!!

21 plus a few years...

Well, another year has gone by and I'm another year older - pushing 40 now as one of my "friends" told me last Tuesday....

I had a really lovely day. The boys including Lee (and Cassie) spoilt me rotten with cards and pressies including a brill hand painted picture of Edward Cullan and Bella Swan (Twilight for those not in the know) CSI for the PC - I get to be a forensic specialist and solve crimes - how cool is that?!, DVD's and I'd already had my main pressie of tickets to go and see the FANTASTIC Dirty Dancing stage show up in London. That, however was not all, as Lee took me out on Saturday and bought me a Pandora braclet from Niche the jewellers in Leigh. As I also had some money for my birthday, I bought two beads and a spacer for it - I also have a wish list set up there if anyone is stuck for a pressie for me!!!!

Mum got me so fabby scrapping stuff including the album I wanted, and some brill slipper boots - in the hope I don't fall down any more stairs wearing my socks!!!

My friends also did me proud with vouchers, books, smellies etc etc and Rachel even took me out for breakfast the following day - yummy!!

Finally, we all (including the kids) went out to dinner at the Bell for an early bird carvery.

A very enjoyable day to say the least.

Thank you to everyone!!!!

Alice in Wonderland

Last Friday, Blenheim Primary school in conjunction with World Book Day had the theme of Alice in Wonderland ending with a Mad Hatter's Tea party in the afternoon.

I was so impressed with the amount of effort that all the parents put in to creating their kids outfits - they all looked really good! The teachers also joined in the fun and dressed up too which always makes all the difference!

Nicholas went as the Mad Hatter....

Nicholas and the class TA Mrs Gray

Nicholas and his TA Mrs Cammage

Nicholas and Marianne Turner - the headteacher of the school!

Alexander's class had to go in all black as they were making their own playing cards..

Alexander and his teacher Miss Stephens

I just love dressing up days!!!

Muppet...

Accident prone as ever, on Monday I fell down our stairs at home with Cassandra in my arms. if the baby gate hadn't of been there I would of been okay, but it was and in my endeavours to protect my baby girl, I fell over the gate twisted my knee and landed on my ankle.

Cassie was more shocked than anything, not a mark on her (thank the Lord) but a 4 hour stint with Mum up at A&E determined that I had indeed twisted my knee and may have a fractured bone in my foot.

Crutches and plenty of painkillers later I'm finally up and around, just not walking too well....

My ever grateful thanks to my Mum who's been round every day since just to play with the boys and look after Cassie so I can rest my leg.

Lee's also doing a fabby job picking up the slack from my daily chores (bar the cooking and washing of course)!!!!

Let's see what the school run next week has to offer....?!!

Run, run as fast as you can!

I've gone and done it now, I've registered for this year's Race for Life!

I've decided that I'm going to run (jog, or even just walk) my first ever Race for Life this year for a charity I truly believe in. Lee and I give a regular donation every month to this worthwhile cause, but as Tesco are fond of saying - "Every little helps".

From my personal perspective, I was so saddened at the loss of my Grandad who died of cancer but his last weeks were made a little more comfortable due the care and dedication of the McMillan nurses that came to see and assist him every day. My Mother-in-law's sister also has this terrible illness and her time is running out too...

I'm attending the Southend Race for Life 5k on Sunday, 23rd May 2010. If you're around in Southend around 11am, please come along to Garons and cheer me on!

I'd like to ask that if you could spare a few pennies, that you please help me to reach my target and maybe exceed the £150 I'm aiming for. It's really easy to sponsor me (the wonders of technology) just click on the link below.

Many thanks!!! Photos after the event will be posted!

What great big brothers.....

A trip to Partyman in Basildon with all 3 kids was great fun. Whilst Lee chased the boys around I played with Cassie in the under 5's area until the boys thought we were having more fun and came over to join us!

Cassandra is a lucky girl to have such great big brothers....

I'm a poorly bunny...

After 3 days of having chronic diarrhoea and stomach cramps Mum kindly came over yesterday and I went to the Dr's who advised me that I've got Gastroenteritis - which is an infection of the stomach and intestines (lovely).

Still, not the best way to diet, but I'm guessing I'm going to have to pay at weigh in on Monday as I'll be well below my target weight!
